ACC Tries Out New Penalty Descriptions
ACC Official Ron Cherry gave a rather descriptive reason why he called a penalty in the 11/24/07 game between the Maryland Terrapins and the NC State Wolfpack. When asked later about the penalty, Cherry replied that the average English comprehension level has hit an all time low in American Universities, so the ACC has changed its penalty descriptions to vocabulary that is easier for the typical college student to understand.
Other new descriptions include “Getting all up in his shit” (pass interference) and “Kicking his ass old school style” (roughing the kicker).
