The Adrian Peterson and Devin Hester Show
Both the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings announced on Monday that they would be renaming their respective teams to reflect the power of each team. The next meeting between the Chicago Hesters and the Minnesota Petersons won’t be until a Monday Night Football game on December 17th.
The decision to rename the Vikings was a fairly easy one for Coach Brad Childress. Peterson not only set a franchise rushing record against the Bears, er - Chicago Hesters, but he was intimately involved on every scoring play. Once, just to throw the Hesters’ defense off guard, Peterson put on Troy Williamson’s #82 jersey and caught a 60 yard bomb from Tavaris Jackson (We think - it is possible that Peterson was wearing both jerseys and actually passed the ball to himself).
Hester caught on late in the game and did the same thing, posing as the Bear’s (Hesters’) Muhsin Muhammad and catching a TD pass in the final minutes of the game to bring the Hesters within 7. On the next offensive drive Hester decided the posing was silly and wore his own jersey to catch the tying TD with 1:38 left in the game.
Ultimately, in the end the Minnesota Petersons prevailed over the Chicago Hesters - possibly because Adrian Peterson simply touched the ball one more time than Devin Hester. Fans of both teams are lining up to purchase new jerseys as we speak…
